Practitioners of Peace - Mini-Conference for Youth!

Welcome to the youth conference Practitioners of Peace!

Auglýsing fyrir Facebook

A Youth Mini-Conference will be held at Kistufell from 10 - 11 August.

Youth between the ages of 15 to 30 are invited to join the first of our mini conference in Kistufell from Saturday 10 August to Sunday 11 August.

The conference material takes us through a diverse set of engaging topics that help us to reflect about the world we live in, and our contribution to it. It inspires us to see our lives, no matter how imperfect, as a valuable source of light for those around us. The program consists of group reflections and discussions, art projects, collaborative games and music.

Parts of the program might be in mixed (age) groups and others in groups according to age, depending on those attending.

Practical information:

To attend the conference please indicate your interest by filling out this form here or calling 792-3299 (Åshild Dybwad) or the Bahá'í National Office during opening hours (tel: 567-0344, open from 14:00-16:00 Tuesdays to Fridays).

  • The program will start on Saturday at 12:00 and finish on Sunday at 14:00, we advise everyone to be there for the entire duration of the program.
  • If you need help getting to and from Kistufell, we can arrange transport, so don’t let this be a reason not to come.
  • If you have any allergies, please let us know.
  • Bring bed linen and towels.
  • If you play any instrument, please don’t hesitate to bring them with you.

This mini-conference is the first in a number of mini-conferences to be held here in Iceland and is based on the conference which took place in Staffordshire in the UK. Two Icelandic youth were there and will lead the discussions here at home, with the help of others. This is a wonderful opportunity for youth of all backgrounds and convictions to come together and reflect on the world we live in and our contribution to it.
